Welcome to Year 6!

Our teachers are Mrs Stanford and Mrs Doyle. We are supported in our learning by Mrs Paul.

PE: PE days are Monday and Thursday. Please ensure that you wear your full PE kit to school on this day. Please make sure you can remove any earrings yourself or take them out before school.

Forest School: Children have a weekly lesson on a Friday and will need to either borrow wellies from school or bring their own to school. They will also need to have their arms and legs covered.

Reading: Children can read a mixture of their school books and books from home, please try to record this in their reading record books to help teachers see what the children are enjoying reading. Although our children are very able readers, they do need to read at speed to cope with the volume of text in their SATs – so please continue to hear them read.

Book Change: Children in Year 6 have the freedom to change their books when they finish them. Our classroom is next door to the library so they take the chance to pop in when they can!

Homework: Homework will come home on a Friday using our Fab 4 template. Children will receive Dojos for homework completed and returned to their teacher.

Bags of Hope

This year for the Diocese Leavers’ Service, we learned more about refugees and the journeys they go on in search of hope. We produced a collective artwork to represent journeys.
