Year 5 Curriculum overview summer 2
Hello from year 5 and 6! Our teacher is Mr Snelling. Mrs Branska, Mrs Cave and Tracie support us in our learning too.
Our PE days are Monday and Thursday. Children need to come into school in their PE uniform. In addition to PE lessons, our usual forest day is Thursday. Please send in some long sleeved, long legged clothes and wellies to keep on their peg.
Reading: Children can read a mixture of their school books and books from home, please try to record this in their reading record books to help teachers see what the children are enjoying reading. Although our children are very able readers, they do need to read at speed to cope with the volume of text as we go through the year.
Homework: Home learning ‘Fab 4’ will be sent home each Friday and it will include spellings and a reading comprehension activity.
Move up day 2026!
Today we met our new teacher, Mrs Cambra, and spent time in the year 6 classroom. We took on a chair building challenge, thought about the skills needed to be the best year 6 role models and shared interesting facts about ourselves by designing shields.
