ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Oakfield C.E. Aided Primary School is part of a federation with Arreton St. George’s C.E. Aided Primary School.
Our Mission Statement: ‘Everyone will be given the opportunity to shine!’
At Oakfield CE Primary School our Christian values of Love, Trust, Honesty and Hope support the spiritual and moral development of children and the wider community, enabling every learner to be the best that they can be.
We create and foster a genuine love of learning within a stimulating, safe and caring environment where pupils develop their knowledge and understanding, thinking skills, self-confidence, social and emotional skills.
Oakfield CE Aided Primary School is a wonderful school on the outskirts of Ryde. We have an amazing outdoor space, which includes a forest school, outdoor classroom, extensive playing fields and a lane that runs alongside one side of the school grounds down to Appley Beach. These special spaces are invaluable in supporting our children to grow both academically, whilst supporting their physical, social, emotional, moral and spiritual development.
We have a new school building which has 14 purpose built classrooms, the downstairs’ areas are home to our Reception and KS1 classes and have their own bespoke outdoor play areas. Upstairs has the KS2 classrooms, and each pair of classrooms has a breakout/interventions room. St. John’s House is currently home to the library, nurture suite, cookery room and training room downstairs, with administration offices upstairs. We are still in the process of completing the external spaces which will eventually incorporate our Prayer Garden, Herb Garden other areas yet to be established. The School is very much at the heart of the Community and is let out 7 days a week. Activities include Zumba classes, keep fit, Brass Band, Theatre Train and various sports clubs. This brings in additional income for the School and is an area we now plan to expand on now we have our new site back to ourselves.
